2010 WSCFF Benevolent Fund Scholarship Awards

The Washington State Council of Fire Fighters is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2010 Benevolent Fund scholarships. The WSCFF Benevolent Fund will be dispersing $38,250 towards furthering the education of high school seniors whose parents are affiliated with the International Association of Fire Fighters and the Washington State Council of Fire Fighters.

On May 11, 2010, WSCFF Board Members, Brian Hurley (5th District), John Stockman (7th District), Michael Moore (8th District), and two members at large, Grant Larsen (Local 31) and Matt Thierfelder (Local 452), met to finalize the rankings for the 2010 Scholarship awards. The panel was very impressed by the students who applied for the scholarships and are proud of their individuality, commitment to academics and understanding of what unions have done for their families and communities. The panel read, scored, reviewed and ranked the 36 applications primarily based upon their accumulative grade point average, high school activities (clubs, sports, work),
and an essay.
