President - Kelly Fox

Kelly Fox became a career, professional fire fighter with the City of Olympia in 1982. He rose to the rank of Captain, a position that he voluntarily forfeited to further his involvement with labor movement. He now holds the rank of Lieutenant with the Olympia Fire Department.

Kelly was elected President of the Olympia Firefighters Local 468 in 1985. In 1990, he became an Executive Board member of the Washington State Council of Fire Fighters (WSCFF), a position he held until elected President of the WSCFF in June of 1996. As President, Kelly oversees the operations and activities of the WSCFF. His responsibilities include directing Governmental Relations, Legislative and Campaign Activities, Education and Research, Organizing and other member services. He is currently serving his eighth two-year term as President.

Kelly is also active with the joint International Association of Fire Fighters/International Association of Fire Chiefs Leadership-Partnership as a facilitator in labor-management relations for national and statewide organizations.

Kelly is the chairman of the LEOFF II Pension Board, which was created by the passage of I-790 in November 2002. As such he is leading the board in defining its goals and establishing policy that prioritizes members and beneficiary needs.

Secretary/Treasurer -  Greg Markley

After graduating from Central Washington University in 1983 with a B.S. in Accounting, Greg Markley was considering law school as his next step. A long time friend encouraged him to consider a career in the fire service and Greg took a test in the fall of 1983 for the City of Kent and was later hired in February of 1984.  He currently serves as a Battalion Chief for the Kent Fire Department.

 Greg was elected President of Kent, Local 1747, in 1996 and served until 2004.  He was elected to the WSCFF executive board as the 8th District Representative in 1997 and served in that position until being elected to the position of Secretary/Treasurer in June of 2003.  Greg?s responsibilities include the supervision of the office staff and all correspondence that comes in and  out of the WSCFF office.  He also oversees all of the financial affairs of the organization and reports all activities to the President and the Executive Board.

Greg has served as a trustee on the WSCFF Medical Expense Reimbursement Plan since its inception and has continually worked to improve the plan on behalf of our membership.

Vice President/4th District -  Dennis Lawson

Elected to the Board in 2001 after having served as a trustee, Dennis works for the Puyallup Fire Department.  Dennis was elected vice president at the 2007 Convention.

1st District - Mike Bacon

Mike works for the City of Spokane Fire Department. He represents the Spokane Fire Fighters Local 29 on the Executive Board and was elected to that position in June 2004.

2nd District - Jeff Wainwright

Jeff represents the following locals: 404, 469, 876, 1052, 1296, 1433, 1789, 1892, 1919, 2052, 2299, 2328, 2916, 3542, 3680, 3701, 3711, 4203, 4333, 4362, 4418, 4514, F-304, and I-24.

5th District - Brian Hurley

Elected to the Board in 1997, Brian works for the City of Tumwater Fire Department.  

Brian represents the following Locals: 315, 451, 452, 468, 828, 1805, 1862, 2109, 2409, 2444, 2510, 2639, 2776, 2903, 3375, 3628, 3674, 3689, 3825, 3828, 3999, 4075, 4156, 4258, 4378, 4447, and 4574.

6th District -  Ryan Mudie 

Ryan became a professional fire fighter April 2000 for Kitsap County, District 18, IAFF Local 2819.  As an active participant in the local, he was appointed the Political Action Coordinator.  In 2003 he was hired as a City of Tacoma fire fighter, where he currently holds rank of Firefighter/Paramedic.  In 2009 Ryan joined the executive board for Tacoma, Local 31 and has served as president since 2012.

Ryan comes from a strong union family and he dedicates his time and passion to serving his brothers and sisters on the frontline.  Currently, Ryan proudly serves the citizens of Tacoma on Engine 10.

 7th District - John Stockman  

John works for the Redmond Fire Department and was elected to the board in 1998.

9th District - Keven Rojecki

Keven works for the SeaTac Fire Deparment and was elected to the Executive Board in December 2007. Keven served as a WSCFF Legislative Liaison from January 2000 through June 2010.  He has served Local 2919 as its secretary-treasurer and president.

Keven represents the following Locals: 1257, 1461, 1810, 2024, 2088, 2919, 3780, 4189, and I-66.

10th District - Dean Shelton

Elected to the Board in 2008, Dean is a member of IAFF Local 3219, Marysville. Dean has served as Secretary Treasurer of Local 3219 since 1998.  Before being elected as 10th District Representative, Dean served as a WSCFF Trustee.

11th District - Theresa Purtell

Theresa works for the Seattle Fire Department and represents Seattle Fire Fighters Local 27 on the Executive Board. She was elected to the Executive Board at the WSCFF Convention in June 2004.
