Alan Rivas

Alan Rivas, L1828 graduated in Paramedicine from UCLA Daniel Freeman in 2011 and completed his Fire Academy in 2014 in Washington state. He serves on the Executive Board for South County Firefighters Local 1828 as Communications Director, Co-Chair of the Washington State Council of Fire Fighters DEI Committee. In 2024, he was elected to serve as a member of the IAFF Human Relations Committee.

Believing that diversity should be celebrated, and barriers eliminated, Alan emphasizes the importance of equitable practices in recruitment, hiring, training, retention, and advancement opportunities within the fire department and union. His passion for building a strong and inclusive community within the firefighting profession is unwavering.
