Speaker Bios

Alex Skalbania

Alex has been practicing law for over 35 years, since graduating from the University of Washington School of Law and becoming a member of the Washington State Bar Association in 1985. Alex also did his undergraduate work at the University of Washington, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the UW in 1982. From the beginning of his legal career, Alex has maintained a special focus in his law practice upon representing labor organizations. Alex has been a partner in the Seattle law firm that is now Skalbania & Vinnedge, PSC since 1999. The firm currently limits its practice exclusively to the representation of public sector labor organizations located within the State of Washington. During his career, Alex has presented a number of interest arbitration proceedings on behalf of IAFF Locals, as well as many other arbitration hearings, unfair labor practice hearings and other litigation matters on behalf of union clients.
