The WSCFF’s mission is to provide the best possible working conditions, the safest work environment, and the fairest wages and benefits to fulfill the needs of the men and women in this profession.
Hosted by Navy Region NW F&ES, The PFT certificate course, now known as F2T 101: Fitness Principles and Practice, is the flagship course of the IAFF’s Fit To Thrive (F2T) program. Designed using the latest research on fire fighter wellness and fitness, exercise science, and behavioral change, F2T 101 emphasizes the assessment, design, implementation, and leadership skills required to serve as an ambassador for wellness and fitness in the fire service.
The in-person F2T 101 course runs over four consecutive days and involves small and large-group activities, case studies and hands-on exercise sessions. It is designed specifically for fire fighters and EMS providers employed by a fire department.
To receive a PFT certificate, participants must attend all four days of the course and successfully pass the virtual exam, which is accessible four weeks after the course finishes. Once certified, PFTs will join the F2T community comprising of thousands of fire fighters across the United States and Canada.
