Washington State Council of Fire Fighters
The WSCFF’s mission is to provide the best possible working conditions, the safest work environment, and the fairest wages and benefits to fulfill the needs of the men and women in this profession.
Spouses who accompany WSCFF members to convention are invited to attend a class that will enhance understanding of our members challenges, followed by a wine tasting class. These events will be held at the Vancouver Firefighters Union Hall. Childcare and lunch will be provided. A shuttle from the Hilton Convention site to the union hall will be available. Pre-registration is required.
Melissa Wainwright, PhD, and wife of WSCFF 9th District Representative Jeff Wainwright, will present Work, Union, and Family Balance on Monday, June 19, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
The course will be an open discussion about achieving a balance between the life of the spouse or partner of a union official and protecting time for your family and yourself. There will also be coverage of behavioral resources and open discussions.
The class will be followed by a wine tasting class – Local 452 has arranged for a sommelier to come and teach how to discern flavors and complexities of various wines.
