IAFF Local 1258 has 28 full time Firefighter/EMTs and Firefighter/Paramedics. We provide fire suppression, transporting Advanced Life Support EMS, technical rescue, and fire prevention/ education/investigation services to the citizens, industries, and businesses of the City of Moses Lake. We serve a residential population of approximately 22,000, covering an area of about 19 square miles. There are approximately another 18-20,000 residents who reside outside the city limits. During the warmer months our population can easily double with visitors to the area. We run an average of 3,800 calls per year. Approximately 85% of our call volume is EMS related. We try very hard to be active in our community, and provide a voice to further the advancement and improvement of public safety.
