5th District Report

Tom Fields, WSCFF 5th District Representative

It’s been a relatively quiet yet extremely busy spring for the 5th District.

We have several Locals working hard on bargaining, as multiple negotiations have been underway for some time. Seattle Chiefs, Kirkland, Bellevue, and Redmond are all engaged in bargaining, with several more Locals preparing to begin the process later this year.

Communication among the Locals has been fantastic, and we have seen excellent work produced throughout the District. We have also elected several new presidents in the District: Congratulations to Ray Austin, Raina Clark, and Adam Wilkinson for stepping up and getting involved! Additionally, a very heartfelt thank you to Tom Tull, Gary Anderson, and Tracy Wycoff for taking the time to serve your Locals. Notably, Tracy has served his Local longer than most of us have been on the job and continues to assist those who have stepped up to follow him. Job well done by all!

We had a record turnout at the WSCFF Kelly L. Fox Legislative Conference event in Olympia, the IAFF Legislative Event in Washington, DC, the IAFF ALTS event in New Orleans, and the IAFF-WSCFF Educational Seminar in Kennewick. Several Locals also took politicians to Boise for the 2025 IAFF Fire Ops 101. I have no doubt we will have a stellar showing at the WSCFF Convention at the Tulalip Resort and Casino in Marysville in June.

The relationships built and the knowledge shared at these events are critical to protecting our members, driving our Locals to new heights, and ensuring we are prepared for the challenges ahead.
