Alex Mayer

Alex Mayer is a Health Scientist working at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). He is currently working on the National Firefighter Registry (NFR) team with a primary goal of understanding the link between cancer and the U.S. fire service. He graduated with a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology from the University of Cincinnati in 2016. Since joining NIOSH in 2017, Alex Mayer has focused primarily on research relating to exposure to flame retardants and firefighter health. He has published over 10 journal articles and technical reports on research relating to firefighter safety and health.
