It is with tremendous sadness that the WSCFF and IAFF Local 29 Spokane Firefighters announce the passing of Josh Rhoads. Josh died in the early hours of October 24, 2024, surrounded by his family, after a courageous five-and-a-half-year battle with cancer.
Josh joined the Spokane Fire Department and Local 29 in March 2017, dedicating his career primarily to Stations 1 and 7. He was known as an exceptional fire fighter and Fire Equipment Operator (FEO), respected and beloved by his brothers and sisters. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.
He is survived by his wife and two children.
Please keep Josh’s family, friends, and fire service family in your thoughts and prayers. In the words of his local, “Let us come together to remember and celebrate the life of a remarkable fire fighter and friend.”
