Since 1939, the Washington State Council of Fire Fighters has been actively engaged in legislative advocacy to protect and advance members’ wages, working conditions, and benefits at the local, state, and national levels.
The Legislative Committee – comprised of the WSCFF President, Secretary/Treasurer, Vice President, and two Legislative Liaisons – identifies and recommends candidates for endorsement, supports locals in electoral efforts, and helps develop and advance legislation affecting pensions, civil service, collective bargaining, and health and safety. For the 2026 Legislative Session, the WSCFF have appointed two Session Lobbyists. This role was created to strengthen the WSCFF’s advocacy efforts and develop future union leaders.
