Tim Hoover, WSCFF 6th District Representative
The WSCFF 6th District convenes as a leadership group with local presidents at least once per quarter to discuss current issues and explore ways we can assist one another. One issue currently being worked on is the impact of hospital wait times in the region. A small group, made up of WSCFF 6th and 8th District members, is meeting to consider potential solutions to help alleviate the burden wait time places on our members.
Another topic in the district is regionalization. While regionalization is unique to each Local, we strive to find ways to support the individual needs of every Local. Shoreline recently formed a Regional Fire Authority (RFA) [CG1] with Kenmore, and South County just had a successful annexation vote for their last contract city, Edmonds.
Finally, I am saddened to report that Bothell firefighter and retired Local 2099 member Adam Lamb passed away from occupational cancer. Adam was a larger-than-life figure in his community and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
